Bedbug Assessment |
 The common bedbug is an insect that feeds on human blood. They are often found near sleeping quarters, in the seams of mattresses, box springs, cracks and crevices in bed frames, and usually spread to gaps behind baseboards, pictures, wallpaper and electrical outlets. They may hitchhike into a home or sleeping quarters on used furniture, clothing or other items brought from infested areas.

 Have you seen a reddish-brown, wingless insects about the size of an apple seed (1/4–3/8 inch long)? When viewed from the side, they are flat, which is why they can fit into such narrow spaces. Newly hatched bedbugs are white or yellowish and resemble the adults, but are smaller in size. |

 Do you wake up with bites? These bites are often caused by the movement of the bedbug in a line as it searches for the same blood vessel after it has been disturbed by its host’s movements. |

 Have you noticed blood stains, brown spots on your bedding or clothing? Blood stains are caused by the bedbug being crushed while feeding on its host. For example, you may role over onto the bedbug while it is feeding.
